
Power Skating Opportunities for 2026-2027
The Derrick Skating Club, with Susan Humphreys-St. Martin from Pure Sk8, will be offering 2 separate Power Skating programs for Fall 2026-2027 and Winter 2026 season.
Full gear is recommended for your skaters but if they prefer tracksuit only, please ensure your skater has at least gloves, helmet, and a stick.
The program will be progressive and provide skill development in all areas of skating. Balance, edges, forwards, and backwards skating.
Susan will be the lead instructor with additional on ice helper for support.
This Fall and Winter Pure Sk8 will be offering two groups for Power Skating. Please see the information below.
U9/11: Intermediate Powerskating
This program will be progressive and provide skill development in all areas of skating. Balance, edges, forwards, and backwards skating.
Susan will be the lead instructor with additional on ice helper for support. This is not a learn to skate program. Players should have some experience and basic skills.
U13/15: Advanced Powerskating:
This is a high tempo and progressive program designed for competitive hockey and ringette players. The sessions will include edge-work, crossovers, and increasingly challenging skating skills.
Excellent as a supplementary training addition alongside the players competitive season.
Location: Crestwood Arena (9940 147 St NW).
Wednesdays – 4:15-5:15 pm for skaters U9 & U11
Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 pm for skaters U13 & U15
Fall (12 classes): Septmeber 16- December 16.
(Omit October 7 and November 11)
Cost: $555
Winter (10 Sessions): January 6- March 17
( Omit February 17).
Cost: $462
